Stay at Our Historic Mansion in Dexter Maine

A very warm welcome to The Brewster Inn courtesy of your English host, Mark Stephens. Our Historic Register Inn is located in Dexter, Maine, just 20 minutes off I-95 and close to the city of Bangor, the magnificent Maine coastline, the beautiful, scenic Moosehead Lake and Mount Katahdin region of Maine. (Possibly the home to the 2nd National Park in Maine in the next few years)

The Brewster Inn is the former mansion home of Maine Governor and U.S. Senator Ralph Owen Brewster and features classic 1930’s elegance in a small town setting,

Our centrally located Maine Inn offers a warm, relaxing, and friendly atmosphere. Featuring spacious common rooms and nine beautifully decorated, comfortable guestrooms and suites. Our lodging accommodations range from expansive to cozy with each offering a distinct personality. Some feature fireplaces, original wood paneling, window seats, fridges, microwaves and original tiled bathrooms. Others offer a lovely view of the gardens or a whirlpool bath for two. One handicapped accessible guest room is also available. All our guest rooms have private baths, showers with excellent water pressure, Wi-Fi, very comfortable beds, flat panel cable TV, independent heating controls and air conditioning (in season).

The beauty of Maine is that it is a 4 season destination. The Brewster Inn and Dexter are the geographical center point of Maine. Hundreds of guests stay multiple nights every year and are encouraged to: unpack their bags, relax and treat the Brewster Inn like home and enjoy all the home away from home comforts, come and go as you please and have a great time exploring all that Maine has to offer.

Anything you want to do is possible using the Brewster Inn as a base whether it be guided moose and wildlife tours, white water rafting, canoe and kayaking, boating, ATV riding, snowmobiling, * skiing, snow shoeing, fishing and ice fishing, dog sledding, hiking, scenic drives, small plane tours over the beautiful Maine wilderness, winery tours, lighthouse trips, antiquing, even guided tours featuring the sights and sounds of locations that author Stephen King has written about and used in books and films.

*For snowmobilers and ATV riders, ITS-85 (Interconnected Trail System) to the Moosehead Lake region and Canada runs right by the Brewster Inn.

I’m more than happy to use my knowledge of the area to help you get the very best out of your trip to the Brewster Inn and Dexter, making it a time you will always remember.

In warm weather, relax on the covered, or screened, porches/patios and enjoy over an acre of rose and perennial gardens. In the winter, curl up on the living room window seat and watch the snow fall, or sit by the fire while indulging in novels and hot chocolate.

Whether you are looking for a beautiful vacation filled with outdoor activities, a romantic getaway, a quiet weekend of relaxation, winter sports, a wedding venue, or various other activities, we would love to look after you at the Brewster Inn and treat you to some wonderful English hospitality.
