The Brewster Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places and was the family home of former Maine Governor and Senator Owen Brewster. If you ever saw the 3-time "Golden Globe" and 5-time Oscar award-winning film "The Aviator" starring Leonardo De Caprio as Howard Hughes, then you will have seen Alan Alda from MASH playing Senator Owen Brewster, who was in charge of the Government task force that tried to bring Howard Hughes down.

Presidents Truman and Taft, 7 Senators (that we're aware of), and Louis B Mayer, the founder of MGM Films, have all been and stayed here. The house was remodeled in 1934 by Maine's (and quite possibly New England's) most famous architect, John Calvin Stevens.

Our home was shown on TV across the USA on HGTV in June 2008 on "If Walls Could Talk" and has been replayed numerous times since then.

We are proud to be part of such fascinating history!
