Along with the rest of the world, we are deeply concerned about the pandemic. There is no greater priority than protecting our collective health and minimizing the spread of the virus. The Brewster Inn is our home as well as our business. We want you to know our commitment to the health of our guests and staff will continue to be our top priority.
Based on our Governor’s plan we are currently unable to open until June 1st of this year. The plan allows for Maine residents and out of state guests with some stipulations. We expect some changes to be made to this in the next couple days/weeks. We’ll keep updating this page as more info becomes available.
The pandemic has caused things to change in our industry and we’ve been working hard to adapt the changes into our routines and procedures. While some things may be different, we are still committed to giving our guests the best stay possible.
Following the State of Maine, CDC and WHO guidance, means some things that will be different than they have in the past. Some of those differences include:
*Check in: we can’t have guests all waiting in the living room area waiting to check in. We will provide an informational email prior to your arrival to explain how we can maintain social distancing and most safely check guests in.
*Breakfast: we are no longer allowed to serve our usual breakfast, or to serve in the dining room. We are mandated to provide “grab and go” or a breakfast option you can have in your room. We are experimenting with new recipes to find the best way to meet this guideline while still giving guests a delicious start to their day.
*Housekeeping in rooms: we are no longer able to come into the rooms and do a daily freshen up. Upon check in we will explain the procedure to follow if you need fresh towels, etc.
*Housekeeping in general: We have always followed an extensive cleaning list. But since the Covid 19 pandemic we have added additional steps under the CDC guidance. Including paying extra attention to all high touch areas, such as doorknobs, remotes, light switches, etc. And using cleaning products that are on the CDC list approved as effective in killing the Covid 19 virus. We will be doing spot cleaning of these high touch areas in the common areas throughout the day.
We appreciate all our guests and eagerly look forward to seeing everyone again. We will do everything we can to help you have a safe, peaceful and relaxing time while with us. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
